the story

Before, what askotter did, and what happened.

01 · before

Before

About 102 clicks a month in summer 2025. “Pressure washing clayton nc” ranked at 25, page three. Google was indexing three copies of the site, so rankings were diluted across duplicates.

02 · the work

What askotter did

In late July, launched a new site with a page for every combination of 15 services, 30 towns and 12 industries, 729 pages in all, plus a landing page for HOAs. In August, wrote 33 plain-English guides (vinyl siding oxidation, solar panel cleaning, the best time to pressure wash in NC) so a homeowner with a question lands on the answer. In September, fixed the duplicate-site problem for good.

What happened

Average position moved from 44 to 28 by September and to 19.9 in October. Impressions nearly doubled to 71,484 a month. The guides are the engine: four of them account for two thirds of clicks since the September fix. In the last 90 days, 602 Google visitors produced 39 form leads and 19 phone calls. October is on pace for about 240 clicks.

Why it matters to you. Answering real questions gets a company found at the research stage, before the homeowner has picked a vendor. The next step is the map pack, where “near me” searches get decided.

Source: Google Search Console for pressurewashclayton.com, Jun to Aug 2025 vs Jul to Sep 2026; leads from GA4, last 90 days to Oct 12, 2026. June 2026 on the old site reached 190 clicks and August was the migration dip, so the cleanest comparison is September vs September and average position.
