Three services say "websites by text". They mean different things.
One runs your marketing through a text thread, one takes website edits by text, and one texts you a sales pitch. Here is what each one is, what it costs, and where each one wins.
What is the difference between askotter, SiteSignal and TypeSite.io?
askotter is a Boston-area managed website-and-marketing service where the owner texts requests and approvals and the work gets done, at $99/mo self-managed, $600/mo managed, or $1,000/mo managed with Google and Meta ads. TypeSite.io is a Florida company that builds websites and applies edits by text from $79/mo, with a $299/mo content tier and a $199/mo flat-fee Meta ads service.

SiteSignal, as demonstrated by SynthMind Solutions, is an outbound sales system that builds a site unasked and texts the owner a pitch, with no published product page or price.
- What "text" means
- askotter: the owner texts changes and approvals and reads reports in the same thread. TypeSite: the owner texts edits and they are applied. SiteSignal: the system texts the owner a pitch.
- Ad channels
- askotter manages Google search and Meta ads together. TypeSite manages Meta ads only. The SiteSignal demo has no ad component.
- If you leave
- askotter: the site is yours after six months on a managed plan, and the ad accounts are in your name throughout. TypeSite: cancel by text and the site stays live to the end of the paid period; the ad account, pixel and landing pages stay yours. SiteSignal: not published.
- Not for
- An online store with cart and checkout, which askotter does not support, or a business that wants Meta ads alone at the lowest flat fee, where TypeSite's $199/mo product is the simpler buy.
Six questions, answered for all three.
TypeSite figures are from typesite.io as of October 2026. SiteSignal cells say "not published" wherever SynthMind has published nothing, because a guess is worse than a blank.
| Attribute | askotter | SiteSignal (SynthMind demo) | TypeSite.io |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starting price | $99/mo self-managed and compute-metered. $600/mo managed. $1,000/mo managed with Google and Meta ads. | Not published. SynthMind sells consulting engagements, and the demo has no signup or price. | $79/mo for the website. $299/mo Full Service with written pages and posts. $199/mo flat for Meta ads. |
| What "text" means | You text requests and approvals. Monitoring alerts, drafts, approvals and reports all run through the thread. | The system texts you a link to a site it built without being asked, then schedules an AI voice call. | You text edits and they are applied. Lead notifications arrive by text. Cancellation is by text. |
| Ongoing marketing | Website, local SEO, answer engine optimization, Google and Meta ads, and reporting tied to bookings and revenue. | None described. | Meta ads on the $199/mo tier. SEO pages, posts and social posts on the $299/mo tier. |
| Who does the work | Agents draft, and on managed plans a person reviews each change before it publishes. | AI agents. The demo describes the process as zero manual work. | An automated system with human review before publication on the Full Service tier. |
| Google search ads | Yes, inside the $1,000/mo managed plan, with the account in your name. | No ad component in the demo. | Not mentioned in TypeSite's public material. |
| If you leave | The site is yours after six months on a managed plan. Cancel sooner and the site stays with askotter, because there was no build fee. Ad accounts and history are yours throughout. | Not published. | Cancel by text, confirmed the same day. The site stays live to the end of the paid period. Your domain, ad account, pixel and landing pages stay yours. |
Three products, read one at a time.
askotter: $99/mo self-managed, $600/mo managed
askotter is a Boston-area company for owners who have no time behind a computer: people fixing cars, fixing teeth, running shops. Your website and your marketing are watched around the clock, and when something should change you get a text. You reply YES and it is done.
The managed plan covers the website, local SEO and answer engine optimization. Managed with paid channels adds Google and Meta ads management with reporting tied to bookings, at $1,000/mo. The self-managed plan gives you the site and the builder with the same monitoring. Nothing requires a dashboard login, a person reviews managed changes before they publish, and the site is yours after six months on a managed plan.
SiteSignal: the text is a sales pitch
The name covers two unrelated things, so this needs care. The "AI builds a website, then texts it to the owner" demo comes from SynthMind Solutions, a New Jersey AI consulting firm. In the demo, SiteSignal finds local businesses with good reviews and no website, builds each one a site automatically, texts the owner a link, and schedules an AI voice call for the next morning. As of October 2026 the video is the only public artifact we could find: there is no product page, no signup and no published price, and SynthMind sells consulting engagements.
The decisive difference is direction. In the demo the text goes outbound, from the system to the owner, as a pitch. There is no flow where the owner texts back a change or runs anything by text. It uses the same channel for the opposite job.
Separately, sitesignal.app by DreamCore360 is an AI visibility monitoring tool sold to agencies. Different company, different product, and outside this comparison. It is named here only because the shared name causes confusion.
Where SiteSignal wins: if you are a seller prospecting local businesses, automated outreach with a pre-built site is a clever pitch mechanism. For an owner who wants their marketing run, it is a different product.
TypeSite.io: $79/mo sites, $199/mo flat-fee Meta ads
TypeSite.io, based in St. Petersburg, Florida, builds and runs websites for local service businesses with a text-based workflow. Its site states 2,200+ websites built, a 4.7 out of 5 Trustpilot rating and Meta Business Partner status, and support by text around the clock.
The $79/mo plan covers the site, hosting, business email, unlimited text edits, lead texts and Google setup, and cancellation is by text. The $299/mo Full Service plan adds four to ten written pages or posts a month, service and location pages, social posts and a ranking dashboard, with human review before publication. The $199/mo Meta ads service is a flat fee with no percentage of spend: unlimited Facebook and Instagram ads with matching landing pages, every campaign starting paused until you approve it, ad spend billed to you by Meta directly, and the ad account, pixel and landing pages in your name.
Where TypeSite wins: if your customers are on Facebook and Instagram and you want someone to run Meta ads for a flat fee, $199/mo is straightforward and fairly priced. Its pitch of Facebook leads without touching Facebook is honest about what it covers.
Where it stops: Meta only. Google search ads do not appear in TypeSite's public material, which means no coverage of the customer searching "emergency plumber near me" right now, and SEO is content-only inside the $299 tier. If you need search and social together with reporting across both, that is what askotter's managed plan with paid channels covers.
What separates askotter.
The text goes both ways
SiteSignal texts you a pitch. TypeSite takes your edit requests by text. askotter runs the whole operation through the thread: alerts, recommendations, approvals and reports.
Search and social together
Google search captures demand happening now and Meta creates it before it happens. askotter manages both with one report across them.
A person before publish
On managed plans someone reviews each change against your business facts before it goes live. Automation that publishes unchecked can publish something wrong about you.
You own the site
After six months on a managed plan the website is yours outright. Compare that line against any subscription before you sign. Who owns your website covers the clauses.
Flat fee on ads
Like TypeSite's ad product, askotter's managed plan takes no percentage of ad spend. The fee stays the same when the ads start working.
Published prices
Every plan is on the pricing page with no quote required, and what happens if you cancel is on the cancellation comparison.
The honest split.
You want search and social covered together, every decision arriving by text, and reporting that reaches booked revenue. You would rather reply YES than open an editor or an ads manager.
Your customers live on Facebook and Instagram, you want a simple flat fee, and a $79/mo site with text edits covers what you need from a website. On price alone it is the lower entry point.
Sellers prospecting local businesses. The demo is an outreach mechanism, and an owner who wants their own marketing run by text is looking at the wrong product.
A bespoke brand identity, custom photography, or a web application with logged-in users. askotter also does not support online stores with cart and checkout.
Published, and month to month.
No setup fee and no minimum term. Ad spend is billed to you directly by Google and Meta.
