How do you get one set of numbers you can trust?
GA4 says one thing, Stripe says another, and your booking system disagrees with both. Matching them by hand takes hours, and the answer is still fuzzy.
How askotter handles it
askotter reads Stripe and WooCommerce side by side, so it can combine your accounts into one clean report you can ask questions of.
A person checks the result before it reaches you. This is part of our Google Ads management work.
How Stripe and WooCommerce records line up
Stripe and WooCommerce both store the customer's email address. askotter lowercases and trims it on both sides before matching, so the same person shows up as one customer across the two tools.
Shared between the two: the customer email address.
What combined reporting uses from each
Combined reporting needs a shared identifier or a shared time grain.
From Stripe that means customer emails and any order ID your checkout writes into charge metadata. From WooCommerce it means order numbers and billing emails.
WooCommerce is on the integration roadmap, so the matching described here starts when that connector ships.
What each tool sees on its ownShow less
Stripe on its own
Stripe knows the payment, the amount and the customer's email. It has no record of the ad, search or email that brought the customer in.
Timing. Stripe records each charge, refund and failed payment as it happens. Payouts land on a schedule days later, so charge date and payout date differ.
Access. A restricted, read-only Stripe API key, or Stripe Connect.
WooCommerce on its own
WooCommerce sees the order and, on recent versions, its source tag. It cannot see ad cost or the visits that did not buy.
Timing. WooCommerce writes each order when it is placed, and recent versions save the order's source and UTM values with it.
Access. The WooCommerce REST API with a read-only key.
