the problem

How do you get one set of numbers you can trust?

GA4 says one thing, Stripe says another, and your booking system disagrees with both. Matching them by hand takes hours, and the answer is still fuzzy.

How askotter handles it

askotter reads Stripe and Salesforce side by side, so it can combine your accounts into one clean report you can ask questions of.

A person checks the result before it reaches you. This is part of our Google Ads management work.

matching the records

How Stripe and Salesforce records line up

Stripe and Salesforce both store the customer's email address. askotter lowercases and trims it on both sides before matching, so the same person shows up as one customer across the two tools.

Shared between the two: the customer email address.

What combined reporting uses from each

Combined reporting needs a shared identifier or a shared time grain.

From Stripe that means customer emails and any order ID your checkout writes into charge metadata. From Salesforce it means contact emails and account domains.

Salesforce is on the integration roadmap, so the matching described here starts when that connector ships.

What each tool sees on its ownShow less

Stripe on its own

Stripe knows the payment, the amount and the customer's email. It has no record of the ad, search or email that brought the customer in.

Timing. Stripe records each charge, refund and failed payment as it happens. Payouts land on a schedule days later, so charge date and payout date differ.

Access. A restricted, read-only Stripe API key, or Stripe Connect.

Salesforce on its own

Salesforce sees leads, accounts and opportunities. It knows which campaign produced a lead only when someone records it there.

Timing. Salesforce opportunity stages move when someone updates them, so pipeline data is as current as the team's CRM habits.

Access. A connected app with read-only access to Lead, Contact, Account and Opportunity.

questions

Questions about Stripe + Salesforce

Do I need a developer to connect Stripe and Salesforce?

How is askotter's Combined Reporting different from what Stripe shows on its own?
