the problem

How do you get one set of numbers you can trust?

GA4 says one thing, Stripe says another, and your booking system disagrees with both. Matching them by hand takes hours, and the answer is still fuzzy.

How askotter handles it

askotter reads Stripe and Meta Ads side by side, so it can combine your accounts into one clean report you can ask questions of.

A person checks the result before it reaches you. This is part of our Google Ads management work.

matching the records

How Stripe and Meta Ads records line up

Stripe and Meta Ads both store the customer's email address. askotter lowercases and trims it on both sides before matching, so the same person shows up as one customer across the two tools.

Shared between the two: the customer email address.

What combined reporting uses from each

Combined reporting needs a shared identifier or a shared time grain.

From Stripe that means customer emails and any order ID your checkout writes into charge metadata. From Meta Ads it means fbclids, UTM tags and lead-form emails.

What each tool sees on its ownShow less

Stripe on its own

Stripe knows the payment, the amount and the customer's email. It has no record of the ad, search or email that brought the customer in.

Timing. Stripe records each charge, refund and failed payment as it happens. Payouts land on a schedule days later, so charge date and payout date differ.

Access. A restricted, read-only Stripe API key, or Stripe Connect.

Meta Ads on its own

Meta sees who saw and clicked an ad. It cannot see a sale its pixel missed, and lead-form contacts stop being visible to it once they leave Facebook or Instagram.

Timing. Meta reports conversions under its own attribution setting, seven days after a click and one day after a view by default.

Access. The Meta Marketing API with read access to the ad account.
