Which marketing brings in paying customers?
Every ad platform takes credit for the same customer. Google, Meta and your email tool can each claim one booking, and they cannot all be right. You need one count you can trust.
How askotter handles it
askotter reads Stripe and LinkedIn Ads side by side, so it can trace each payment back to the marketing that earned it.
A person checks the result before it reaches you. This is part of our Google Ads management work.
How Stripe and LinkedIn Ads records line up
Stripe and LinkedIn Ads both store the customer's email address. askotter lowercases and trims it on both sides before matching, so the same person shows up as one customer across the two tools.
Shared between the two: the customer email address.
What revenue attribution uses from each
Revenue attribution needs a way to connect a touchpoint to a payment.
From Stripe that means charge amounts matched to the customer email. From LinkedIn Ads it means lead-form emails and click IDs by campaign.
LinkedIn Ads is on the integration roadmap, so the matching described here starts when that connector ships.
What each tool sees on its ownShow less
Stripe on its own
Stripe knows the payment, the amount and the customer's email. It has no record of the ad, search or email that brought the customer in.
Timing. Stripe records each charge, refund and failed payment as it happens. Payouts land on a schedule days later, so charge date and payout date differ.
Access. A restricted, read-only Stripe API key, or Stripe Connect.
LinkedIn Ads on its own
LinkedIn sees clicks, lead-form submissions and the companies it reached. It never sees whether a lead became a deal.
Timing. LinkedIn reports conversions under its own windows, thirty days after a click and seven after a view by default.
Access. The LinkedIn Marketing API with read access to the ad account.
