Whole-home generators

Standby generators that start on their own when the power goes out, sized to what you want to keep running.

We install Generac and Kohler standby generators from 14 to 26 kW with an automatic transfer switch. A typical installed price runs $11,000 to $16,000 including the pad, gas connection, permit and inspection, depending on size and distance from the meter.

The estimate is free and on site, since the location, gas line and panel all change the price. We also install manual transfer switches and inlets for portable generators, from $850.

Common questions

What size generator do I need?

It depends on what you want running. Heat, fridge, well pump and lights usually fit a 14 to 18 kW unit, and a full house with central air often needs 22 kW or more.

Do you handle the gas line?

Yes. Our licensed plumbing partner runs the gas line on the same day, and it is included in the quote.
