Flashing is where most leaks begin. We cut new counter flashing into the mortar joints of the chimney, replace the step flashing under the shingles, and seal it with a sealant rated for the roof.
For skylights we reflash the existing unit or replace it with a new Velux skylight and flashing kit. A skylight that is over 20 years old is usually worth replacing while the roof is open.

Common questions
Why does my chimney leak only in heavy rain?
Usually a gap in the counter flashing or cracked mortar at the top of the chimney. We check both and show you photos.
Can you reflash without a new roof?
Yes. We lift the shingles around the chimney, replace the flashing and lay the shingles back down.
